Back To The Songlist

This song was conceived in the basement of 1309 North Main Street in Blacksburg, Virginia in 1998-1999.
It has undergone major upgrades in the ten years of its existence. Probably the largest of which involving the Swiss musicians.
But I think its complete now!
The lyrics focus on the loss of a family member, who had taken on the role of parent.
Recorded in Blacksburg (Va, USA), Cologne (D), Tentlingen (CH), from 1998 to 2006.

It was a rainy night in Columbus when, I got off of the plane.
Above me was the blackness of, the vacuum of this day.
On a whim, he took me in, and saved me from it all.
This tutelage began lesson one: get up when you fall.

As the years ensued, and I pursued the things I learned.
Learned to abandon the, song of my broken heart.
And I owe you more than gratitude, you gave me a start.
You gave me what I needed most, like a tinman got a heart.

Changing colors everywhere,
Cold breeze in the air.
There’s a bridge inside loss,
That will carry us across.

As I leave you now, and I say my last goodbye.
Finish what I started with, a tear welled up in my eye.
And I owe you more than gratitude, you gave me a start.
You gave me what I needed most, like a tinman got his heart.

As the years ensued, and I pursued the things I learned.
Taught me to abandon the, song of my broken heart.

Changing colors everywhere,
Cold breeze in the air.
There’s a bridge inside loss,
That will carry us across.
