Netherlands according to Geert Wilders

So, watching this interview, we hear from Mr. Wilders that (paraphrasing):

“The Dutch are a consensus people, who want to stand around the Christmas tree and hold hands and sing Christmas Carols all year round.”

The interview goes downhill from there…..humorously absurd.

“My program of course is not only about Islam, its about smaller government, lower taxes, better education, whatever.”

I find it hilarious he indeed ends that sentence in particular with the word: ”whatever“.
Yes, maybe its a mistake made in a second language.  But then again, he took the risk of doing an interview in English.  As a politician and an adult, he’s resposible for his words.

“Better education, whatever!”

How can you tolerate such an intolerant man tolerating tolerance on certain issues but intolerating intolerance when he has just said that the Dutch people are a tolerant people who intolerate intolerant people, (or whatever)? Which raises the question, how does one interpolate the intolerance of a tolerant man from Toledo?

That guy states almost everything in terms of “I believe” and since beliefs are just imaginary facts (i.e. delusions unless proven otherwise) I would say that that guy is deluded. It never ceases to amaze me how in a democracy there are no qualifications for entering into positions of real authority and power other than successful popularism. It’s not much of a recipe for acting astutely.

i won’t tolerate such a thug. his entire policy is skewed.

as far as people gaining public office on popularity:
in high school i was always dismayed when idiotic athletes got dates, though assuaged by the vague idea that, in adulthood, people think with their brain and not their gut.

oh how sorely disappointed i am (that is, assuming i’m currently an “adult”).

You are on the right track though but in the wrong direction. The center of decision-making for most adults is just a few inches lower than the gut area. That’s right, it’s dependent upon the size of your wallet.
