I was in a studio again on saturday, first time since mid-january.

probably the most fulfilling experience i’ve had in a long while.  do you know what its like to hear the ideas on a recording that you’ve had in your head for 8 months?  there were no ego-clashes, no sound-engineers wanting to rewrite the music, no chaos…  simply 9 hours of creative time in a studio in the middle of the meadows down south.  its really in the middle of nowhere.  i brought my own lunch.  last time in cologne there was a kiosk in the subway station 20 m away.

the sound engineer there, eric, really knows his equipment and his software. the studio occupies the bottom level of his home.  there was no malarkey.  i’m very much looking forward to the next installment in 3 weeks.

riding on this wave of optimism, on sunday i got booked for a concert at the place 2 doors down from my house. a paying gig! now i just have to get / re-assemble a band.
